no floor
Well, under my jeep last night, and i noticed how bad my floor is getting. I know they sell replacement pans but i forgot where/who makes them while i am at it i might as well do the cargo floor as well. But i am going to have to replace the rockers, and inner rockers as well. the floor is really bad. Would it be safe to drive with it like this. while i am waiting for the pan to come in. or not. And how hard would it be to replace the floor pan.

You need to PM XJStryker he has done his floors and cargo area recently and may have sources for you and may also be able to address the safety issues.

Where have I seen this problem before....hmmmm.....
Is this a safety problem??? HELL YES....
These pictures are from an old cherokee I had..
In the first picture you can see the front driveshaft right along the hole. Imagine the U-joint in it snapping and that shaft flopping around with nothing to stop it from entering the footwell..
The second picture shows the rear of the same footwell. Yes, that is the unibody rail all rusted out. And the main reason this Jeep was being parted a few hours later.
But you don't need some expensive premade footwells pieces. Home Depot sell sheets of steel you can form at home using pretty cheap tools. Petersen's 4WOR had an article just a month or so ago about doing el-cheapo body work.

For the rocker panels you may consider doing something similar to this.

When I got my 88 XJ the driver side floor was gone. I just bent up some sheet metal I had laying around and riveted it in place, sealing the seams with silicone. It would have been nice to weld it in place, but welding to that thin metal is a PITA. Even without the rust, the floorpans are pretty thin. So, I used a thicker gauge sheet to make it a bit stronger.

Sounds great. But this is a DIY job not very hard at all. You can get a 15 dollar harbir freight angle grinder. then a 10 dollar rivet gun.
The 50 bucks worth of walmart rhino lining turned my truck from this
To this
Under 100 bucks did it all myself.

thanks
It took a whole gallon on mine I put three coats on the front and 2 in the back. I Ran out or i would have put another coat in the back. If you do decide to do it yourself you can PM me anytime with ??? I will be more than happy to tell you any lil secrets to make it easier. But with that much rust I would definitly invest in a angle grinder if you havnt yet. They are your best friend.
