no doors mod
i searched around but was unable to find a good how - to guide. i have a 1997 with roll windows and manual locks. is there an easy way to make the doors able to come off and on? thanks!
Your suposeto just be able to just cut off the bottom of the hinge. Then replace the stock pin with a bolt or farmer pin. I haven't dune it yet. But that's what I have hurd.

cut the bottom of the hinge on the door... stick a screw driver in there and beat the bottom half off that you cut off... then PB blast the middle (the part on the cab) and pick up on the door... should pull the pin from the middle section... drill out the middl section hole till the door slides on and off easily... NEVER remove the pin from the top part of the hinge... also when the doors off cut the length of the pin down so its easier to hang the doors... mines been like this for a year... no welding... no bolts...

for 97+ i recommend replacing the pin with a longer bolt and welding it in. when you cut the bottom part of the hinge it doesnt leave much of the pin left to go in.

I followed the JeepForum guide on how to remove 97+ doors and it worked great. I also get a set of these from ebay-

No door sagging at all. They are easy on and easy off too.

Most xj's are very simple. I know that i have a 1992 xj and the doors removed on pins just like the wranglers. All you have to do is unplug the wiring harness to the door speakers/ window/ locks....But seeing as you don't have power windows or door locks you should be able to just unplug the harness to the door speakers and with the help of another person lift the door straight up and it should come right up for you
