Year: 1994
Model: Cherokee
Engine: 4.0
What year is it ?
The alternator is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module, and wiring also goes through the ignition switch, to power the module and one field terminal on the alternator. Plus. there a 30 amp fuse to power through the contacts in the auto-shut-down relay.
Lots of stuff in the control circuit, at least on a '94.

There are two terminals on your PDC marked "bat" and "gen" with a large (125 amp) fuse between them. Make sure you have battery voltage on both terminals with the engine off.
