Couldnt get from 4H back to 2H = in shop now
Last night I tried put 4wd for the first time, owning this car for 2 weeks now. Pulled into the parking lot off the dirt patch and tried to puch it back up to 2H and it wouldnt budge. i was in Nuetral. Tried in park, drive, reverse, then gears in either transfer case or trans grinded super loud as I tried to go from Park to Drive or Reverse. Finally After a bit I couldnt move it in Drive or reverse in 4H. Wouldnt budge in Nuetral, so I figure its stuck between gears. Came back this morning and had a tow truck take it to a shop. The Mechie is going to look at the Trans.
Is it mainly the transfer case or trans? Or both? Has anyone ever had this problem??

I know cruiser will come and post the proper way to shift. But to sum it up, when shifting from 4h to 2h, as you're driving, take foot off the gas peddle at any legal speed and shift it. If it hasn't been used recently, it takes a lil umph. Chances are nothing is wrong and you didn't shift it right. Don't get ripped off or have a mechanic say your tranny is toast
