Has anyone dealt with buying a PCM programmed and updated like this.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-CHEROKEE-4-0L-AT-ECM-PCM-COMPUTER-99-00-01-/121151482721?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3530eb61&vxp=mtr
Is this the way to go instead of spending hundreds on a dealer one?

Lots of people get them off Evilbay.

Just make sure it's a 2000 and the part number is exactly like yours and there's no SKIS lurking in it.

So it's about 2 years later and I'm having the same exact problem, all the readings are the same and the 5v output at the pcm reads .645 volts. Can anyone help me figure out why I'm having the same exact problem?

Just to help clarify...

You changed the PCM 2 years ago, and it ran properly during that time? But now is having the original problem again?

Yes it worked just fine until about 2 weeks ago. I was going hunting and while driving it just stopped running.

Check #11 fuse in the JB. Also check to see if the pin cavities for the fuse are corroded.

Just checked it and it was good, I put a new fuse in just for good measure and cleaned the slot with electronic cleaner. Didn't change anything, still had no bus and .6 volts coming out of the PCM 5v output.

Did you ever figure it out? I’m having this issue on my xj as well, about to purchase a pcm.

Thumbs up No Bus issue fixed

I have a 2000 classic 4x2 right-hand drive. My tech would cut out, odometer reading would cut out and time on the clock would flash if i turned the fan speed past the 2 settings. I found the ground on the block above the oil filter was loose and the battery to driver fender ground was rusted and very loose. I cleaned both contacts and tightened correctly. The issue is fixed for now.

Default No bus, no gauges, CEL and air-bag light

2000 XJ. Started it at a food store, started backing out, almost stalled, picked up again. CEL and all the gauges are zero, and I think the odometer isn’t moving, but is lit. I was low on gas, so I got some. Restarted, still no gauges. I connected a MicroMechanix reader to the diagnostics, says there is no problem. Got home, tried locking the doors with the button. It didn’t sound right. I pushed it to the unlock side. Opened tailgate, and the lock in the tailgate started clicking like crazy by itself! I disconnected the battery.
I’m reading your posts here. Looks like I do have a continuity problem. Maybe even a short.. It’s bytchin’ cold here today, ice all over, more tomorrow. I’ll check those grounds..
Thanks
Harry
