Default No bus? (gauges)

So on my way to moving to texas everything is fine all the way from michigan, until 30 minutes out side of Houston and this happens

(going about 70 by the way)

Ive looked it up before because this isnt the first tine its happened to me. Its some sort of loose wiring, but im not to sure where or what. Need help

if you get the no bus with the xj running then it is the wiring that goes into the back of the cluster...can try to push or smack the cluster for a temp. fix or pull cluster and clean/grease connections

More then likely this is you problem. My 98 does the same thing at times. I just give the dash a hit and the all come back on.

yeah its not uncommon, happened to me a couple times as well

There was a TSB/Recall on that. The CF tech gurus should be able to help or advise you. Do some searching or make the call to a dealer's service adviser - hopefully you'll get a knowledgeable and honest one. My '99 had the same trouble about six/seven years ago. I think the dealership reworked or replaced the CAN bus cables.
