Default No air from centre vents...found this.

Hi all.

Tried to turn my a/c on this morning. Blower blows, compressor kicks on, but for some reason getting no air from centre vents. Got a tiny bit of air through the side vents, but not enough to cool the cabin in this terrible heat!

Anyhow, I popped the hood, had a quick look around, and found this (pics attached). It's on the passenger side of the firewall.

Now, I'm not mechanically minded, although I wish I was (just call me a 'wannabe wrencher'...), but this doesn't look right to me!

I remember reading other posts on here saying that this could be caused by a broken/loose vacuum hose. Are the pics showing an example of this?

If so, how would I fix for the long term? Also, would duct tape as a 'quick fix' do the job without harming anything until I get round to fixing it properly?

Many thanks for any advice.

Ash

Stev-o...thanks a lot for the reply. Next job will be trying to find someone round here who sells duct tape!

It's going in for a routine service in a couple of weeks. I might get the garage to look at fixing this properly. Will it involve something major, like removal of the dash? Or is a 'patch' the normal solution for this kind of problem?

Cheers again!

Ash

Duct tape to fix a broken vacuum line? I use vacuum hose to mend the broken plastic lines, not duct tape.
