Default No ABS light

Hi, I am based just outside Edinburgh (Scotland UK ) and am new to the Jeep scene , I have just got myself a...

2000 XJ 2.5 Diesel Manual with 133000 on the clock.

I have a few issues with it but the first thing i need to sort out is the ABS light or rather the lack of it.

When i turn the ignition on all my lights on the cluster light up apart from the ABS light, I have removed the cluster and swapped the bulbs around and there is no issues with the bulbs. I have also carried out a self check on the cluster and again there seems to be no problems apart from no ABS light. I also have no ABS.

I am looking for some advise. On the fuse box i see a relay that is marked
ABS LIGHT. I would be happy to check it or bypass it if someone could advise on the process.

Thanks for your help.
Nick

You don't have an ABS System or you do and it's not functioning?

I suppose the first step is confirm that your rig is actually equipped with ABS.

Pop the hood and see if it looks similar this:
