NGK spark plugs?
I just picked up some plugs today from NAPA and they are NGK V-Power. I talked to the autoparts guy whom advised that he was pretty knowlagable on Jeeps and he only recommended the NGK's.
I was under the impression that everyone was running Champions, but when I asked him he advised that OE now recommends NGK.
Whats the deal?

I learned this a long time ago...
Doesn't matter what anyone says, Chrysler/Jeep/Mopar whatever LOVE their Champion plugs...
The only, and I mean ONLY time I found a Chrys. that liked something different, what my old B250 Van w/ a 318. It loved the hell out of AC-Delco's, but I used Champs in it also. I tried:
Bosch
Bosch Plats
NGK
AC-Delco
Delco Rapidfires
Autolite
Denso
..in the Jeep...
Champions work the best.

Went to the parts store today and they actually had the Champs for $1.50 ea. Mine seems to idle a little rough, wondering if the Champs will do any better for it?

I will put it to you in these terms....
I sell NGK's as part of my business....
My XJ runs Champions...
Idle is smoother and starting seems a touch easier.

jeeps really want what the factory gave them. up untill the later models, champion is the only plug to use. many problems with other plugs, and the older ones are not designed for platinum at all.
if its a newer one find out if it had ngk or champ and go with that. not untill daimler got real involved did this change

I'll say this when I put my new motor in I put Accel plugs in and they sucked. Replaced them with Champion truck plugs and the jeep ran much better. That's in a 91 with a reman engine with around 5k on the motor.

I am running autolite platinums right now but I think I may try champions next. The autolites are fine from what I can tell.

champions are good. My old explorer liked those the best also. Tried double platinum, they were ok. Never got around to tryin iridium plugs, may try them on my new jeep.
