Newer Style 9 S Blade Auxillary Fan in 94 and Earlier XJ's!
The factory 6 blade fan in my 93 XJ had cracked legs, but still worked. I wanted to replace the fan without cutting the connector so I could have a spare if needed in the future. It's my understanding that up to 94, Jeep used a 6 blade flat style fan, and then from 95-96 changed to the S style fan, with the same connector. It wasn't until mid 96 Jeep changed the connector to that of the 97-2001 models and improved the fan design, they knew damn well at this point the XJ ran hot. So, no need to cut the connector buy the TYC 620550 with 9 S blades. The packaging is good, fan is heavy and solid. Don't know why none of the 4X4 shops advertise this, and there is no where on any internet forum I could find this info in my searches. In my Jeep, this TYC 9 S blade fan is quieter and pushes more air that the OEM 6 blade I had. Hope this info helps others out! The Old Fan with Cracked Legs New Fan New Fan with Correct Female Connection These clips and short 1/4 screws work great Don't forget the Dielectric Grease The Original Male Connector Done TYC for the Win!
