Default Newbie with a question

Greetings all, found this forum while searching for info to fix my Cherokee. I've got a '93 2WD Sport model and the front passenger side bearing is starting to make some noise. Mine also has the brakes up front that are similar to those on a 4WD as the rotor can be slipped on and off the hub. Can the hub assembly be simply replaced with a new one or does it have to be rebuilt? Is the dealer the only place to get this piece?

No you can purchase a hub at any auto parts store. They are fairly easy to do just take your time.

Just checked with the website and then the store and both 2 & 4WD use the same part numbers. Much better price than from the dealer ($300!!).

price out all your autopart stores around man...my 03 cummins busted both wheel bearing backing a trailer up twisty hill in 4 wheel drive... i love autozon to death but they wanted $400 for one... everyone else wanted $235 each... most of the time there all within a few dollars of each other but not always... when i get to costly parts i search them all now...

Selling not an option at this time, maybe later. Ebay price is $48 while Autozone runs $70 for budget to $122 for high end. I'll buy locally so just in case of trouble I have no problem taking it back.

If you can find one thats lifetime then spend the extra moneys... its worth it... sometimes stuff like brake pads with lifetime warranties are interchangeble and u can use forever... i do batteres like that also... autozone has a nation wide computer system that stores your warranties... nobody else offers that... big help if you brake down out of town... and its a warrantied part...
