Firstly Hi all fellow Cf Users,

I have just brought a 1997 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0 Auto Awd, never owned a jeep before but very happy indeed with mine.

The problem with the A/C i have is the clutch on the compresser will lock for about 3 seconds then unlock for a further 3 seconds and so on. The system was low on gas because i brought a top up kit and it swallowed the whole can, but still the comp only locks for 3 seconds

Any ideas would be much apreciated.

I would say just take it to a shop to have it looked over.U might need to vac the system and add the right amount of freon.If you dont have a leak.Sounds like the compressor is ok.Hope that helps

 

Mine takes a couple of cans before it actually is full. might just need a little more freon :\

As previously mentioned, u need to take it to a pro so they can attach the gauges and diagnose the problem.
