Honestly I would just become a CF *****, and read as much as you can so when something does happen you'll kinda know what the problem is and how to fix it.

And go look for the thread called something like common problems with cherokees. The title speaks for its self, you'll find losts of info about it and other stuff on there.

Sounds like a good find! I'd say go ahead and change all your fluids, just so you have record of when it was done, and when it will need to be done next.

There's not a lot to watch out for with such low mileage. Congrats btw! I wish I could find mileage like that. Welcome to the forum.... and the addiction!

Default jeeep

congrats on the purchase, and to find one with such low miles.....

if it were me i would slowly work my way thru the jeep and check everything over

new air filter, oil change, change fluids, etc...

nothing special, but with low miles i would slowly just start in the front and check everything out

CONGRATS! OIIIIIO

NO, off-road oriented upgrade till you do the following.

1. Get a manual. Haynes and Chilton's are fine for most people. If you are experienced mechanically, invest in a Factory Service manual
2. ALL maintenance that the manual calls for, based on miles driven. Then change any fluid not changed.
3. Be a CF *****. Ask the stupid questions, even if they are frustrating to read. Research things you want to do, BEFORE you do it. In your case pay particular attention to Head related issues.
4. Learn to wheel it BEFORE you lift it. This will save lots of future breakage and wasted money. I don't mean 1 trip, I mean several trips over different types of terrain.
5. Lock-it and protect it BEFORE you lift it. A locked and protected XJ can out wheel, an unlocked lifted rig......
6. Do Death Wobble related maintenance and upgrades. BEFORE or as part of any lift. Fixing it before you lift it will prevent the need for spare undies to be carried as part of your tool kit.
7. Do the maintenance, and your Jeep will run forever. If you Don't do the maintenance you will break something or your Jeep will get just pissed at you. When they get pissed you get stuck on the side of the road or worse 20 miles from the road.

There's more, you will need to learn that from there others.

Try rockauto.com

They have some good prices on mufflers for your xj.

Go to a bond or napa and get the exhaust form them. No waiting (at least not more than a day or two tops on the rare occasion they're out), no shipping costs and you know you've got the right one. Unless you're getting high quality aftermarket replacement parts, I'd stay well away from "good Internet deals" and go right to the source- OEM all the way!
