Default New sound!?!?!?

Okay, I got some wheels and tires from my neighbor. Put 'em on, and what I have now is kind of like a loose metal shaking. Coming only from the rear. It sounds like if you took a bolt, put a washer on it, then put a nut just on the end of it, then shook it, and the washer was clanking.

I put my stock tires/rims back on, and this went away. When replacing with the new ones again, I noticed the hub that is on the brake drum inside the lug bolt pattern, wasn't big enough to fill the hole for the rim's center. The stock rims fit right around it, but the after market ones do not.

It isn't my lug nuts, I cranked 'em to hell. Nor is it a wheel bearing, as it would do it with the stock rims/tires as well.

So my guess would be the center ring being to big? And would this cause a problem?

x2 ^ and check the rims periodically to be sure the lugs arent wollering out your bolt pattern. Seen a dude lose a wheel at 55, it was sweet.

Are you say the center hole of the wheel is smaller than the hub? If so thats your problem. The wheel is not resting on the hub, it is stopping at the lip and is LOOSE.

Scroll down. Only pic of the wheels I can get right now. That's the front one though. Just imagine about an 1/8th inch gap between the wheels center and the brake hub.

That should be Ok the lug nut should center things up, unless a wheel is bent. have you pull the brake drum off to make sure there not something wrong in there.

Take the new wheel and roll it on the ground by hand. There might be something in between the tire and rim.I wouldn't think it's in the brakes if it only does it with the new tires on.
