Rear Transmission Seal
What is involved in replacing the transmission seal? How long should it take to replace and do I need to replace the trans fluid when changing this out?

Rear trans seal or transfercase?
Transfer is easy, elevate the rear of vehicle. Remove the driveshaft, remove seal with seal puller or a large flat screwdriver. Apply RTV around new seal metal sleeve and drive in with seal installer or properly sized socket.
You shouldnt lose much fluid if the rear is elevated.
The rear trans seal will require removal of the transfercase. Thats when you do the transfer input seal as well.
