Default New shocks questions

what is your opinion on shocks? i dont really know if i am going to lift my jeep quite yet but i want some new shocks for my 93 cherokee, mine are really worn out and i have death wobble around every corner. Ive been looking at rustys shocks and rough country's. which are better and are there any other brands i should look into? OME i hear is good but they are pricey. also would like to know what the difference is between hydro and nitro??
Thanks

I have Rusty's shocks on my 91 XJ and my son has RC on his 87. Both rigs have 6 inch lifts. I'd say both brands are about the same...Heck I wouldn't be surprised if they shocks are both made by the same manufacturer and then sold to the separate lift retailers. I'd just go for whichever ones you can get the cheapest.

Bilstein makes a great shock, but you'll be spending some coin on them too. I never minded my Rubicon Express shocks (the cheap ones). If your shocks are completely blown, then any decent shock will be an improvement.

if you have the money, OME makes a great shock. otherwise whatever is in your price range should be OK. even the monroe ones from advance auto would work

all the cheap twin tube shocks are pretty much the same. get a good monotube shock and be done.
