Quote: Sounds like the IAC motor.
replaced it 6 months ago. And when I first heard the high idle that was the first thing I took out and cleaned. I should I just replace it?

[QUOTE=BlueRidgeMark;3591956]In other words, the thermostat sets the MINIMUM operating temperature.
Which is not what the factory service manual says.

Wouldn't hurt anything other than your wallet. I got a couple at the boneyard pretty cheap, but the one I have now was new from fleabay for about $10, have had mixed luck with those too but this one seems good. If you have the scan tool you could look at the TPS angle and waveform just to make sure not hanging up. Should be around 16% open at idle. Other than that, vacuum leak...

Yeah the mopar ones are expensive lol. And I’m pretty sure the one that’s on their isn’t oem. I’ll replace it and report back.

Update: replaced the tps and iac and nothing changed. Drives exactly the same as with the other ones. So my guess is it has to be a vacuum from somewhere? I do hear that whistle on cold start up. Ugh. So annoying . Also a question I had is can it harm anything? It isles at 1000 and in drive idles at 700
