looks like the PO did quite the hack job,"It's a car not a tractor". You might have a fresher start getting a harness out of a wreck that hasn't been hacked up.
I would be down to do it but would I need to find another renix to swap it out with. If I do somehow find one I just match up colors right?
Sorry if this sounds stupid, I'm new to working on cars. I have only done minor fixes like oil changing, o2 sensors and coolant lines which are all easy quick fixes.

pending on you location a harness may be easy to find. I know here in Bakersfield there are plenty of unmolested RENIX models.
If you were to locate a good harness it is plug and play, the wires are old enough that they lay where they go.

Sounds good. I just changed the fuel pump and the jeep is still jerking but not nearly as bad anymore. I drove it for about 10 miles with no problems then it started again but it's not as bad. I'm going to write up 1-4 that cruiser suggested and see where that leaves me.

Obviously I'm prejudiced, but that's a good place to start!!!
I was looking for the dipstick ground connections and found this wire just hanging around. I can't seem to find the dipstick ground connections as either of the dipsticks have anything bolted to them. Help please.
Dang thanks guys honestly I don't know what any of those acronyms mean yet. The spark plugs and wires Have been done but the rest is out of my league as of right now.
Do you think a shop will have these tools to diagnose the problems? A lot of places I called already told me they won't mess with it. The place I'm going to seemed pretty confident and said if it's a simple fix they will only charge me the diagnostics fee. How should I select a shop to take it to?

No I can't seem to find what's wrong with it. I'm hoping to get something going by tonight because I work tomorrow and need the jeep haha. I'm still working on the suggestion cruiser made so I hope that fixes it.

Yeah man. I looked around for another harness but $250 for a used one out of a junkyard is way too expensive for me lol. Going to register it non op and sell it to someone who wants a project. I'm going to try to get a 93 or newer out of a dealer hopefully for under $3k.
Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help!

I think selling it is a good idea. You don't have expertise and you don't have money. That is a bad combination for buying a 26 year old car. It sounds like you're looking for a project of some sort, but this might not be the right time in your life. The #1 job of your car is to get you to work.
