New to the Jeep World!
Hello Friends,
Just bought an 86 2.8l manual 4x4 Cherokee red on red! I love it!
Things I have done: spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor, PCV valve.
Is there any websites that have drill downs/schematics of the parts/part numbers?
Things that are wrong with the car that I need help with.
Idle: Today I set the timing and curb idle. It still bogs at various times? I followed the sticker in the engine bay, what is high idle? how do I set it? Any ideas on contributing factors as to why the idle is sporadic?
Knock: There is a knock on the left side when I stop or accelerate. Is this steering or suspension?
Oil pressure gauge doesn't work, just stays all the way to the right past the diagram.
Cruise control only accelerates the car but doesn't lock the speed in when I push the button.
Fog lights don't work turn on, the switch does not illuminate, not the fuse.
Rear window wiper doesn't work. not the fuse.
Future questions:
Valve adjustment any pointers?
Oil type for Diffs/transfer case?
Carbs, Weber k490? is it CA smog legal? any CA smog legal carbs? rebuild?
Sensors, does this car have a map sensor? where is it? Any other sensors I should replace immediately?
Thanks guys!

Welcome!
You'll find cruiser54.com has a wealth of info for the older Jeeps. Some service manuals, too. Also xjjeeps.com has manuals. Free for the downloading!
Forget Chilton and Haynes. They often have good info, but it's mixed with wrong info. Sometimes it's missing critical info. Garbage!
