Hello all. New here and new to xj's in general. I've got a 94 xj with 160k on the clock. When I bought it 600 miles ago the front and rear shocks were shot giving a very noticable popping when I turn the wheel 1/8 drection from straight. I replaced the shocks and the popping went away. That was 600 miles ago. It's back. If its not the shocks and the steering box is good and tight what else could it be. I know its something simple that I have to be missing. (I hope). This is my DD ant the only vehicle I have that I can carry arount my 10 month daughter around with. Any thoughts?

 

if its 4x4 it could be the u-joints at the wheels. check them for play. do you know anybody who could help you?

check to see if there is any play at the trac bar and any other joint that has a grease fitting. the trac bar does cause a popping when it has play some times.

 

grease front drive shaft, grease everything
