New guy here, with a question about random vacuum line
I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee with no cruise control, she never had it, and while doing a little cleaning in the engine bay found this line, from the pressure tank behind the front bumper to no place. Any idea on where it should go?
The HVAC vents are vacuum controlled. There should be a vacuum line coming off the intake manifold, run along the firewall, go into a T fitting near the heater core, then continue down the fender line to the reservoir. The T fitting, branches off, through the firewall, to the HVAC control panel in the dash. One other vacuum line comes through the firewall, then runs to the heater valve. If you have no vacuum, the dash vents default to defrost.

Well I’ve just joined and this has helped already. My heater is only working on defrost as well and I could not find much info that helped when googling. Now I know (or it’s likely) I have no vacuum to the controller.
If the OP doesn’t mind I’ll use this thread to problem solve further?
IMO, you'd be better off starting your own thread. That way, if the symptoms, or diagnosis path changes, there won't be any confusion (on your part or ours) about what to try next. Of course, you can always follow along.
