It sounds like your idle air motor might be a little sluggish, you can pull it off with a Torx screwdriver and clean it out, I took the whole thing off and tooth-brushed it all, a whole bunch of black sticky deposits came off and my idle adjusted a lot quicker. Also my idle was really slow to adjust when it got cold, all I did was change my battery lol fixed the problem! Your cherokee is so similar to mine only difference is wheels I'd say. Oh and what's with your dash? I didn't even think Jeep put in dummy lights, why didn't it come with gauges? Every dummy light you have, I have a gauge for, plus a tach (manual)... but our cherokee's are only a year apart... what gives? Think you'll rough in some gauges soon? Nice looking cherokee though, very good condition
(btw- your paint color is called "gunmetal" I made the FATAL mistake of calling it blue once lol)

looks great man, especially for $700.
add info to your vehicle list as you figure things out to help other assist you in fixing things.

Good looking XJ! Love how you have power mirrors, but not windows though
Kinda makes you wonder what they were thinking on that one.
Not too many of the 97+'s have dummy lights. One of the very few I've seen. Can't wait to see it with tires and a lift!
