Default New engine and transmission blues

A friend and I installed a new automatic transmission and inline 6 in my '89 Cherokee. My friend left and I keep having problems with things. One thing is the front pipe hits the drive line at turns. I tried to reposition the front pipe by disconnecting it from the manifold. no go. Anyone else have this problem?

Does the downpipe have the crush spot in it from the factory?

The original downpipe had a crush spot to prevent exactly what you are describing as happening. If it doesn't you need to get the right downpipe.

Good question, XJ Snake. If by crush spot you mean an indentation then there is one between the manifold and the point where the knuckle meet.

Everything is original, all I done was re-install original equipment, of course this problem didn't happen before I took it apart.

I am wondering if I somehow got the motor mount brackets swapped. Naw! That would be too much work!
