Rear stock bumper xj
Howdy folks: I am going to tackle gas tank skidplate and trailer hitch either this weekend or next.
I am going to take off the rear stock bumper to install the driver side
nutstrip and replace the passenger side while I am at it.
QUESTION: What is going to be the "trick" on getting the bumper separated from the bumper cap/side molding piece ???
Just wanted to get some thoughts BEFORE I get half way into it.
thanks, Randy from Oceanside

There's really no trick at all. There's one screw that holds the bumper cap to the bottom of the quarter panel immediately behind the rear tire, and there's a friction-fit plug on the bottom of the bumper cap where it meets the bumper. Once the screw is out and the plug has been pulled, lift the bumper cap up to pull it off the bracket that's riveted to the quarter panel.
