NEVER use RTV on a head gasket! Todays head gaskets require no sealer unless specified my the gasket manufacture, always install dry and clean.

X2 on dry gasket.. I used new bolts too. I cut the heads off 4 of the old ones and screwed 'em in the corners of the block. (just deep enough so the ends stuck out enuff to unscrew 'em) It held the gasket in place while i wrestled the head back on. No manifolds on it so I didn't need a hoist, but gravity was workin' overtime on that hunk o' steel
Be sure to torque the bolts in sequence, and 3 passes.. I forget the exact numbers, but it was like 60,80,100 or whatever. have fun!
