Default New column or tighten bolts? Video included

So I think it's time to address my loose steering wheel... I'm not sure if I need a new column or if I need to pull the steering wheel off and tighten everything up. Here's a video showing how much play there is.

Thanks,

Sorry, but is it just the wheel that is wobbling or is it the whole column moving?

I had an 87 that had a wobbly steering wheel. I replaced the whole assembly, including column, in an afternoon. You may wish to go that route just to be safe.

If you have the tools, you would be better off fixing what you have. I've done those in an hour.

That's a pretty in depth write up! Gonna have to attempt to do this next weekend and loan out the puller

That is a good write-up. I would buy a harmonic balancer puller (not a steering wheel puller) as it will work for steering wheels and other things. I've used mine for several steering wheels and one day I will do the harmonic balancer with it too. Not too expensive either ($15-$40 depending on the kit bolts and quality). Good thing to have in tool box.
