My 2000 XJ is my first car, and I'm trying to get a feel of what needs to be done on it and what work I can do on it myself.
I've got a pretty stiff brake pedal, and I've already checked the vacuum line to the booster and its in good shape. I've also tested the booster by pumping the brakes with the car off, and turning it on. The pedal depressed fine like it should.
I have a picture of my brakes with the tires off from when I did my shocks, maybe someone can tell me if anything is wrong or if I need new pads/rotors.
You can do the pads and rotors yourself for about $50 for the front using budget stuff, probably closer to $100 if you use premium rotors and some better brake pads.
When in doubt, remove the caliper and inspect everything. Brakes are pretty important

I got some Duralast Gold pads yesterday from Autozone, don't know if they're any good. When I take the pads off (tomorrow probably), I post a picture of the rotors so you can take a look.
