I will never again have a vehicle of mine serviced at a 'shop'. The top bolt to the power steering pump attaching it to the bracket is stripped out. Barely stays finger tight. Also the pump itself I had replaced a couple years back looks like a 20 year old pump, not a new one. And I don't mud or leak everywhere (until now), so it shouldn't look like this. Anyways, can I just get a nut and bolt from lowes and slide the bolt all the way through and tighten the nut on the other end? Or are these bolts special?

I don't see why you couldn't do that.

Has nothing special. A bolt with a lock nut or lock washer should do it.
