I have a 97 Jeep Cherokee Sport, that loses power (throttle) for a few seconds after driving it a few hundred yards. But only when I first start driving it. And only that once, it never happens again after that. Anyone have any ideas???? Please any ideas are appreciated!!!

My first guess would be the throttle position sensor. When it looses power, yo probably mash the skinny pedal and then it regains its usual function.

Well, I was looking for some serious help. I know the skinny pedal is the gas pedal. I have been racing cars long enough to have figured that out, silly boy! LOL But what it is the rectangular one for???? I thought only boys used that one. LOL. Its not a transmission problem. My gut feeling is its a fuel problem. So seriously guys, I know one of you has the answer I need, which one is it?

Hey Racer! Thanks for the advise. The fuel filter is on the fuel pump assembly and I wanted some other ideas before I changed the whole fuel pump. And I will check the TPS.

Less attitude will get you an answer much quicker.
Check the connections to the TPS. Clean them and use some dielectric grease. The TPS deals with very low voltages and a slight change makes a big difference.
gone hunting how about some info on your Jeep. Fill out that section on the User CP. Year and engine plus the transmission would be helpful in making a diagnosis.
