Well my jeep didn't turn over today at all. I took the old battery in and they said it was bad. So I got a new one, put it in and nothing. When I turn the key it buzzes and the radio and lights come on. No cranking tho. The guy before me replaced the started which I dO understand that doesn't always mean it's good. It sure looks new tho. Could it be a starter solenoid?

have someone hold the key to the cranking position while you crawl under there and tap on the starter body with a hammer. if that doesnt work try carefully wiggling the pos & grnd wires going to the solenoid while the key is held in the crank position.

or u can just remove it, paying attention whether or not all the connections were tight when you unbolted them, and inspect for rust/oil/grease blocking contact. while its out, do a quick bench test.

if the bench test comes up dead, then you've already got the starter out so might as well head to autozone with what is now your core.

you've already replaced the battery so i am assuming your terminals are clean.

i just pulled my starter out last week because it would intermittently just click and not crank. so i pulled it out for inspection and the positive cable was rusty and the ground cable was loose. cleaned it all up and put it back together and so far so good.

hope this helps !
