Hey dudes I got 97 4.0.

just recently my cluster stock amp gauage started acting up. It will work fine for a while and in the middle of driving just stop working, with no other signs in the jeep like its not driving wired or stalling. The check gauages light comes up on the dash. I have had it tested at the shop and it read the correct number of amps. Im going to check it again today as it's been 2 days since I had it checked.

I'm hoping the amps are fine with the battery which means the alt is doing it's job.

Any ideas would be greatlyfully appreciated. Thank you.

 

Ok so after a little checking my alt was bad. All fuses and relays checked out good. I went ahead and did a new bat, new belt, and new alt. check gauges light is gone and volt gauge is back to 14 while driving. And I can go to work tomorrow so I'm happy I was able to do it today

On a side note before I took out the alt I ran the dash diagnostic when u push the odom button and put the key to on three times it pretty interesting watching the cluster check itself. Anyway I got back a code of 47 in the mileage readout. Does anyone know what that is or where I can find out what the code is for thanks
