These pics are from my '01 Sport, which axle is it actually?
I was under the assumption that I would have 35 if it was stock
But is this an 8.25? Looking at the different diagrams online I'm getting confused

Both were used in 2001.
Yours is definitely an 8.25. The flat bottom gives it away. Someone always posts those differential cover photos when this question comes up, but they never show the most distinguishing feature. Check that pic Earl linked to.
Congratulations on having the better axle.

when I've owned it for as long as I have, though a buddy of mine kept trying to tell me it wasn't the 8.25, so i guess I'll take his jeep advice sparingly.

Another giveaway is if they have ABS brakes they are a D35 also, but not all. Be thankful he was wrong and you have the much stronger Chy 8.25 with 29 spline axles.

Yeah funny thing is I bought a Ford 8.8, when I was thought it was a D35. At least I have options on the rear.
