Default Need to replace or re-key my hatch lock...

I have a hatch that is from a different car, is there a way I can remove the lock and get it re-keyed? Reason being is that I lost the hatch key ( again, its from a different car ) so can I remove the hatch lock mech. and replace it from another one?

It's pretty easy to do. Open the hatch and on the bottom there are 3 #30 torx screws holding the latch in place. These screws have locktite on them and they're in there really tight. Add a bit of rust and it's pretty easy to break one of more of those screws ( ask me how I know that). I've learned from experience that the lock won't work with even one screw broken off. if you have power door locks you may have to disconnect the rod from the lock motor to the latch.
Once you have the latch out you can see the back side of the lock itself. It's held in with a spring clip that slides into grooves on the lock barrel. Slide the spring clip off the lock barrel and you can push the barrel right out.

So did you get the lock out of the hatch?
