Default Need to remove the parking brake cable from the backing plate

I think this is the right forum, since it's still stock stuff, even though my need to do it is because of a conversion.

How do I remove the parking brake cable from the backing plate? Everything that holds it together is so rusted I can't make heads or tails of anything. But after taking everything apart, the cable itself is fine. I already have new hard lines, so I'm not trying to salvage those.

There's tabs on the end of the parking brake cable that are spread you need to squeeze them together and pull the cable through the backing plate.

Oh, like the ones I had to squeeze to remove them from the splitter under the truck.

Thanks. That backing plate has seen better days.

If it gives you a rough time you can use a small worm gear hose clamp to get it started out the hole then just loosen it up after it's partially through..

That's exactly what I did, and it worked great!
