Were the tanks mounted securely with no pressure on the core?

Did you end up replacing the radiator/flushing the system? Did you have any issues with your heat or temp gauge?

My '98 Sport has a radiator leak that seems to be at the same spot yours is. The temp gauge reads normal, however my heat doesn't get very hot. I've read that the heater core needs flushed but I figure I should do it all at once since I'm changing out the leaky freeze plugs tomorrow as well.

if your rad is leaking replace it as soon as you can... no heat can be due to a cloag in the system and also a weak water pump... but the leaky rad is not helping... change your t-stat since you are doing that much flushing never hurts and is cheap insurance...
