Default Need recommendations on new radiator-brands,etc.

I need to replace the radiator in my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport. The one in the car now only lasted two years and started leaking. I'm going to buy a replacement online. I'd appreciate recommendation on brands, features, etc. that I should look for to be sure I buy a good quality radiator that will hopefully last longer than two years. Also, suggestions about features, brands, etc I should avoid will be appreciated. Thanks.

Modine is pretty good.

All new radiators come with a warranty. However, they insist that you flush and backflush the system including the heater core. Use new quality coolant and a new radiator cap. Need to keep receipts and service tickets showing the above.

Not saying anyone cut corners the first time, but that is a short life for even a low-line radiator.

No specifics other than the radiator was replaced at Midas about two years ago and has started leaking from the upper corner.

I haven't had to buy an XJ rad (knock on wood), but have had great results with NAPA radiators in other vehicles.

check to make sure the hose clamp is tight and the hose doesnt have a unseen crack in it... happened to me before... and it is the rad itself... very odd to leak from the top and not the bottom...

Not saying u couldn't get a bad rad but, a new rad must be mounted/supported correctly....if not, the problem will likely re-occur in a short time.

They usually start right there where the hot water inlet fitting is. That area is under the most stress.

Obviously, it's on top.

That's where all of mine have started. At least the ones with "plastic" side tanks.

Got my two row all metal from radiatorbarn a couple years ago. Still solid. No complaints and didn't break the bank.

I got a 2 row all metal CSF from radiator barn. Fits perfectly, and seems really sturdy. Only had it in for about 5 months so far though.

This is where the leak is - top of the rad on the right side. The coolant leaks out of that square space the arrow is pointing to.
