Haynes manual is your best of friends. Can pick one up at most any auto store. Cost like $10 to $20.
Literally brakes everything and anything in that car apart and tells you how to do it with nice helpful pictures to boot.

I had to replace my rear hardware when i took off the rear drum to inspect it and the springs and such inside turned to dust. Not a fun install

Ball joints need to be pressed out or pounded out. If you don't have the tool it will be kindof a pain. You can buy a cheap one from Harbor Freight tools.

and if you get this it will be easier otherwise you might have to make some other pieces to make it work

You also might be able to rent one from a parts store like autozone or Oriley

They make a manual for most all vehicles. I have one for my Escort, S10 and Jeep and even my 240z when I had one.
I use those manuals for everything. Anything and everything you need to know or do on your vehicle, the Haynes is the best guide their is.
Everything I know how to do I learned from that manual.
Replacing brakes, repacking wheel bearings, change transmission filter/fluid in an automatic, replace heads, change out radiator, etc.
Even if you already know how to do a lot of things, the process is always different for all vehicles, so even if you know how to do it, I still do a quick read cause that way will be the fastest and I won't run into any surprises.

I usually always do new hardware which means springs and stuff just do one side at a time so you can use the other side for reference and ball joints is not good to beat out you can tweak the knuckle or something and mess up the whole axle best to get a tool

Get the Haynes and it will tell you how to do it with pictures. If you do a search on the web I am sure you can find many write ups on it. Just make sure you search for jeep ball joints. They are a little diifferent as the ball joints on a jeep stay in the axle and one some the trucks the ball joints usally come out with the knuckle.
