My old 95 XJ was running fine then it suddenly died on the highway. I'm a part Cherokee old crank with a young wife and I told her I needed to get a crankshaft position sensor for the old Cherokee. She said she could use one of those for her old Cherokee crank too, but she doesn't have a Jeep. Huh?

My 1994 used to randomly die and the problem was the ignition coil. The CPS could also be bad.

I do believe she called you an old crank. :}

If it's not running, check for spark first. Dying with no spark when it gets warm or failing to start are commonly caused by the crank sensor.
