Default 1994 Jeep XJ crank position sensor

My jeep had been running well but over the last couple years but it had stalled out several times in the mountains at elevations above 7,000 ft. After about 15 minutes it would start up again and seemed to run OK. My solution to this problem was to not drive it to the mountains anymore.

Recently the distributor started chirping so I replaced it. Ran good for 5 miles but would not start the next morning.

Used this trouble shooting guide:
https://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/je...gnition-coil-1

The ground wire to the coil did not test properly and the guide suggested the cause was probably the crank position sensor. Replaced sensor and it's running well again.

Seems odd the crank position sensor would go out the day after replacing the distributor. I guess the camshaft position sensor in the distributor and the crank position sensor do communicate so ...?

Wanted to post my experience here so others don't focus on the distributor after recently changing it out.

No idea if the new sensor will fix the stalling problem in the mountains but hoping it will.
