I just want quicker throttle response and a little more HP. I'm not talking about dragging or anything maybe just showing up the Honda with the coffers can muffler that pulls up to me and revs his little 4 cylinder engine at me.

dude it is what it is you could throw a few thousand bucks at it and only make 35 or 40 more ponies money is probably better spent elsewhere regearing was mentioned. not sure what you have now or what the next lower ratio but it would definitly give you more off the line speed

Ok man no need to jump on my ****. 60 bucks for a bored out throttle body, a few bucks for some injectors from the jy, a propane torch and a crowbar to get rid of the crush. Cheap ****. What I can do. If I can go ahead and do it and its cheap, why not?

im totally not tryin to be a smart azz but theres lots of younger guys and gals on here and 100 bucks can be like half a paycheck to some of them. some of the other jeep sites like the srt site jeez them guys **** money and although i have an srt believe me im making payments and cant afford the mods i wanna do

Depends on where you're coming from. $100 can be a weeks' worth of groceries, or it can be Jeep money, lol. Depends on whether it's your last $100 or one Ben Franklin of several. I've been in both situations and greatly prefer the latter.

Anyway, your engine is basically just an air pump. Anything you can do to increase the air/fuel going in and the exhaust flowing out will boost HP.
Opening up the exhaust, removing obstructions from the intake, including the bends in the intake tube and the crushed exhaust.

The underlying problem is the 4.0 was never meant to be a performance motor and you will be constrained by it's design, there is only so much you can do without replacing the head, stroking it, etc. None of that falls under "cheap", unfortunately.

I just hate all the ricers around me. They spend $$ on plastic kits and stupid mufflers that they think make them sound ba. Whenever one *takes off* I almost have to pull over I am laughing so hard. It sounds like some person having explosive diareah. I hate how they think that that is "cool" or sounds good. Typical ricer mods besides those that I see on imports are black tail lights and plasti dipped rims. I love when I see a BMW or other real car just fly by a ricer who is trying to show off, ot makes my day! I could probably show them up without any upgrades, but I want to do a few just for quicker throttle response. I don't really care if I gain any HP or not. If I did I would put a few jegs stickers on and call it done.

i didnt mean burn the tread off the tires but to buy and own a hi performance car and never floor it seriously whats the point. unless of course we are talking collectors items but even than they were meant to be drivin i floor my srt at least once per outing( which are few and far between since im only home once every couple months)
