Need lift kit recommendations...
I had the same dilema when I was shopping for my lift kit between rough country and rustys. I went with rustys 3" because you got u bolts and brake line extension. For the amount I got it shipped for though you could have bought all of that with the rough country though. Just me two cents.

Do you have any complaints about the Rustys lift OTHER THAN the shipping? I'm kinda leaning toward Rustys to be honest. I appreciate your info!

my buddy has rusty's since day one. i've held his parts in my hand (lol), they are twice the size as any other i've seen, including my RE. he's never had anything fail, and he wheels it like anyone else.
another friend has a 2 year old rough country 4 inch kit in her tj, she's gone through control arm bushings twice so far, her lower control arm bent and the bushing end ovaled out and was sloppy and very noisy, had it replaced, and now it's like that again. RC won't warranty it. she's gonna replace it with RE.

Thanks for the info man, for the buck it seems like Rustsy's is gonna be my choice - we will see how everything goes!! now who wants to come & help install it??

I ordered my lift kit. 3" RC add a leaf, should be here tomorrow. I know it's not the best kit out there but I felt that it would be most suitable for what I need RIGHT NOW. There are alway upgrade options in the future. Anyone know if it's possible to install WITHOUT air tools? I've been under there doing some investigating and nothing seems to be too rusty believe it or not. I found a cheap compressor at Harbor Freight tools but wasn't sure if it was a necessity or not to get this job done. What ya think??
the only air tool i used to put that same exact lift on was an impact. and i just used that on the lug nuts. you'll need spring compressors. autozone and other places rent them out.

I have a BDS lift ,and it seems to be a very good and complete lft kit.It is a bit more pricey but it is made in the usa and has the best warrenty. You get what you pay for anyways.
