Default Need idea…engine won’t stay running.

Long post, but in short- dropped fuel
tank on 98 XJ. Replaced fuel pump with Quantum Fuel System Pump. Reinstalled, hooked up vacuum, electric, and fuel. Jeep started and died. I can hear the pump, checked relay and check TPS, checked strader valve and has fuel in the rail. Will start with fuel or starting fluid in throttle body but dies once burned off. Had rough time cold starting prior to new fuel pump, but would run. New fuel pump
is slightly larger than OEM. And ideas??

Sounds like fuel pressure isn't an issue. Possibly the injectors clogged since it is starting with starting fluid. Injectors are the next phase of the fuel process after the rail.

What about the fuel pressure regulator? It would never start in first crank before I installed the new pump. Always have to crank it twice to start unless it was fully warmed up.

Just cause there is fuel in the rail does not mean that it has fuel PSI. Verify that with a mechanical gauge first.
