This was not my original idea, A member from another jeep forum im a part of shared this and inspired me to give it a try myself - i merely documented my experience and wanted to share it here.
Starting out with some good condition factory front and side marker lights.
Hit them with dish soap water and scuff pad to clean and rough them up just a little bit
Then came the key to the revival here. This Krylon Stained Glass, Tangerine Orange was roughly $17 on amazon.
This was the first coat
And this was 7 coats later, new coat every 10 mins.
European or export market style light. Not easily available here in the US. Sure you can get them from a RHD here but those are few and far between and typically harder to find nice used parts from if they are in a you-wrench yard.
Funny, I think the white lights look better (but that's entirely subjective) & both those and the amber ones are readily available here.
The side markers don't look any different but ours are only reflectors (i.e. no bulb socket)
Anyone looking for export spec parts could do a lot worse than checkin out ebau.co.uk - some prices are rather fanciful - but most sellers are quite happy to ship abroad.
