Need a "hot' ignition lead location
I wish to hard wire a forward looking car camera so it goes on and off automatically when the Cherokee engine/ignition goes on and off. Right now it is designed for a cigarette lighter install, but I want things a bit more tidy. Please give best place... in the interior fuse block near pedals? ...(and proper procedure) to wire this accessory. Guess I need the correct fuse numbers that are related to the ignition? ...and installation tips and steps. Thanks

you could do it at the radio get a volt meter and find out which wire turns on and off with the key if you tell me the year and what not i could tell you what color it is or if you have an aftermarket radio already in its red

You can wire it to the cigarette lighter circuit. It turns on and off with ignition switch. That way you have a dedicated circuit just for the camera except when you use the lighter plug for something else. Check the power rating for that circuit and stay under that rating and you should have no problems.

behind the radio the wire is purple/white at the ignition you can use either blue or purple or you can run off the fust box aux or ignition but what ever route you go put a 10amp fuse on it as close to the wire your taping into as possible if that one works and later blows the fuse try a 15amp a 10amp should work fine
