woah, lots of miles but no reason for hte knock unless something was messed up to start with. was oil pressure always good previously and is it now? start the engine and pull a plug wire from one plug at a time and see if you can find where its knocking. if its an engine knock, that is

it knocks all the time? like a solid bam bam bam or just a tap tap tap? have you changed the oil lately? maybe you can put some of that oil additive that makes your oil thicker and make it go away? or make it light enough to still drive with no trouble

can you make a recording of the sound?

What kind of fuel are you putting in it? Try to describe the noise better too. Check your front driveshaft too. With that kind of mileage, if you did not replace U-Joints and stuff it may be something that simple.

Sorry about your job btw that sucks dude, gotta love our Jeeps, good luck!

haha yeah love the jeep that why im mad the noise is not in the front end just did all new u joints brakes etc took out front drive shaft cause it was shot...it is a knocking noise that coordinates with a knocking feeling on bothe the valve cover and the block idk if its because of the noise or it was always there? never touched my engone wile running before

Either sludge buildup in the oil pump or a spun bearing. Just my 2 cents.

you can put the sound into photobucket and load it as a video. if you can feel it knocking when you touch the engine its probably going to be new engine time, which for you translates to new jeep time

where do you live? probably could recoupe some money towards another by selling to someone who has an engine lying around. there is an engine here for 350 out of a 94
