Default Need Help In Nashville!

Hey guys, i'm in Nashville for a few months because of work & just got a stock 98 XJ 4.0 4x4 to run around in while i'm here. Everything was cool until a few days ago. It cranks normally but won't start. I'm not mechanically inclined but read that it might be the crank sensor since it's still getting fuel & the coil seems to be good. All the fuses were checked too. I figure this forum would be good to find someone to work on it instead of some random mechanic. I'm in the west Nashville area.

ive had an issue a couple months ago with my crankshaft positioning sensor, my jeep would crank but it would not start. put some starter fluid in as well and it would try but it still wouldnt start up. i dont know where the sensor is on your jeep but on mine its on top of the transmission, but it wasnt hard to get to. all i had to do was take the crossmember off and low the transmission a little bit to remove the 2 bolts and take it off and replace it. the part for mine was about $35.

It only took me about a half our to low the trans and take it out and put the new one in. but again im unsure where it is on a 98, mine is an 89.

Shouldn't even have to lower the transmission. I changed a few just reaching my arm in through the engine compartment

Need to check for spark, if none then suspect coil or cps. Check spark at the coil, then at the plugs. If none at the coil, id suspect cps or coil.
