I thought was a stabilizer bar end link but can't find that on autozone or advance auto parts website under that name.
So please teach me something and tell me what this is and where i should get replacement from.

X2 your best bet is a Junk yard or going to disconnects... Be careful driving without it.

Its different because the stock sway bar links are like this:

It has to attach to a stud pressed into the axle and then it has a stud that goes through the sway bar. Found the pic here: http://www.autopartsnetwork.com/cata...kee_year:1987_
But yeah the JY is prob the best bet

I'd get new swaybar links, anything from a junkyard will be about as strong as what snapped off. I just picked up a grand swaybar from the junkyard and the links snapped right off when I took it off

TJ links are 2" longer if you have a little lift

You can get new sway bar end links for about $5 a piece. I've been meaning to get new ones since my bushings are shot and I figured I might as well replace the whole thing for a little more cash. I might get a new sway bar too after I price some out. Maybe something a little stiffer than stock.

And what is that fancy apparatus in the picture above? It looks like some sort of puller tool.

I think he was trying to say the stud wasnt pressed in the axle... But i think it really is depending on the year... To replace one with a "better than stock one" i think with new tight bushings and good links with good bushings theres not much you can do...

My understanding is the links from my 98' are longer than earlier XJ's. How much longer are TJ links than the longer and shorter factory XJ links?

XJ links are the same all across the years... Someone else said that TJ links are 2 inches longer and that if would help if the OP had a small lift
