I have a 1993 jeep cherokee power windows and locks inline six motor. I locked my keys in like a dumbass. I have a clothes hanger and im trying to jimmy it but im not having luck. Any help where i should put the hanger? I can get in my hood if there is a way i can acess it somewhere from in there? Any help please i need my truck for work tomorrow and my spare is 4 hours away.

 

Power locks or manual(EDIT: I can't read)? Can you get the hanger through a window or door? If so, just go for a handle and try and pull it open. Not sure if theres a way to go through under the hood, about the only thing is the hood latch cable if you can somehow squeeze through there.

if the fuse that controls the door locks is under hood run a power wire to the top of the fuse and it should unlock

 

i haven't looked at the one on my jeep but my pontiac has it under the hood so just putting it out there

 

Aww that`s gotta suck. I don`t know anything about the ones with the power locks but since I just had my door panels on my 94 off last week I know on the manual lock ones there is a long rod that runs from the inside pull handle back to the key entry position. When you pull the inside door handle this rod needs to move forward toward the front of the Jeep. I`m thinking if you can somehow hook onto this rod which is directly behind that handle and tug it forward you might get it open. Otherwise you may need to put a small wooden wedge into the gap of the door near the back or top and gently tap it in until there is just enough of a gap to slide a long hook in to grab the inside handle. Of course even if I DID lock my doors it wouldnt make a difference as my rear window has already been smashed out.

 

I Googled your problem. This is for a Grand Cherokee, but might work for your Cherokee. It's worth a try.

pull the rear hatch glass out. you can do it from outside. it's very easy to get out and back in again.

easiest way to tell you, and i'm a caa tow truck driver with all the lock out tools right here. lol.

 

Last time I did it I had called in sick and was feeling like death. Went to the deli for soup and locked my keys in. The guy who owned the deli was outside smoking a cigarette when I realized I locked my keys in. I didn't say a word, didn't hesitate, didn't even think twice. I grabbed the rock that was holding the deli door open, through it through the little front door window (2 door), opened the car and handed him his rock.

He still talks about it when I see him.

The locks are pick-able with a slimjim. I make my own so I can't tell you if they are still sold in auto parts stores. Patients with it. since you are in front of a computer, look up the lock mechanism and figure out which way it need to be pushed or pulled before you poke around. That or call a locksmith or your local jeep dealer with a vin# and they'll cut you a key. The last two will cost about equally.
