Hey all,
My son and I recently removed and replaced his 4.0 engine in his 92 Jeep XJ, but in the process of doing this, we cant seem to remember where a couple wires attached to. First, we have a bundle of wires coming off the harness on the passenger side and I know one of the connectors goes to the oil pressure sensor, but I also have a brown wire with a ring terminal also coming off this bundle that we can't remember where it attached to? Second, there is a ground wire coming off the firewall that I cant seem to see where this attaches to, one of the studs holding the cylinder head on? Third, more of a how-to question, but the cable for switching his automatic transmission had a spring on it that flew off when removing it from its mounting location, we just cant figure out how the spring was seated on this cable?? Last, anyone have pictures how the transmission cooling lines attached to the studs on the oil pan and also the o2 sensor bracket? Basically any pictures of how things are attached from underneath by using the studs and brackets holding on the oil pan.
The braided wire from firewall is easiest... it goes on the last or 2nd to last head bolt..more precisely it goes after the last headbolt that the square wiring conduit for the injectors slide down on to. Doesn't really matter, just the very last headbolt is difficult to reach under the firewall shelf.
