need help changing tie rod

Default need help changing tie rod

how do u replace tie rod the one thats connects to pitman arm my pitman arm is loose and tie rod end is shot and is giving me dw.

if your actual pitman arm is loose, you need a new steering box my friend.

And it's not the tie rod, that's the drag link to which you are referring. Tie rod goes between the drivers wheel and the drag link.

if it's just the TRE, just take off the crown nut, and use either a pickle fork or a pitman puller to break loose the joint. Then just unscrew the old one and screw on the new one, and re-bolt to pitman arm

TRE (tie rod end)
Connects pitman arm to draglink, also TREs are used several other places in the steering assembly. Most notably, both ends of the tie rod.
